Anti-Fake Policy

1. Overview

Trusted Rw is built on trust and transparency. This Anti-Fake Policy applies to all users of the platform and covers any form of fraudulent, deceptive, or dishonest activity, including but not limited to fake documents, false business ownership claims, fabricated reviews, and misleading representations. By using Trusted Rw, you agree to comply with this policy in full.

2. Prohibited Activities

The following activities are strictly prohibited on Trusted Rw:

  • Fake Documents: Uploading forged, altered, or fabricated documents of any kind, including RDB certificates, appointment letters, government IDs, trade licenses, or any official paperwork
  • False Ownership Claims: Claiming ownership of a business you do not legally own or have no authority over
  • Fake Reviews: Posting reviews that do not reflect a genuine experience, including paid reviews, self-reviews, competitor sabotage, or bot-generated content
  • Identity Fraud: Impersonating another person, using someone else's credentials, or creating accounts under false identities
  • Misleading Information: Providing false or deceptive business details, contact information, addresses, or descriptions
  • Document Manipulation: Digitally altering names, dates, stamps, signatures, or any other element of an official document
  • Fraudulent Evidence: Submitting evidence obtained through deception, theft, or unauthorized means

3. Document Authenticity Requirements

When you upload documents to Trusted Rw, whether for business claims, verification, or any other purpose, you confirm that:

  • All documents are original or true copies of original documents
  • No content has been forged, edited, or digitally manipulated
  • The documents were lawfully obtained and you are authorized to share them
  • The information in the documents accurately reflects the current state of affairs

4. Truthful Representation

All information you provide on Trusted Rw, including account details, business information, reviews, claims, and uploaded evidence, must be truthful, accurate, and not misleading. You are personally responsible for the accuracy of everything you submit.

5. Detection and Verification

Trusted Rw actively monitors for fraudulent activity using:

  • Manual review of submitted documents and claims by our verification team
  • Cross-referencing with public records and regulatory databases including RDB
  • Automated pattern detection for suspicious activity
  • Community reporting: users can flag suspicious content or claims
  • Direct verification with relevant government bodies when necessary

Trusted Rw reserves the right to request additional documentation, delay processing, or reject any submission at any stage if fraud is suspected.

6. Consequences of Violations

Any user found to be engaging in fraudulent activity will face one or more of the following consequences, depending on the severity:

  • Content Removal: Immediate removal of fake reviews, false claims, or fraudulent submissions
  • Account Suspension: Temporary suspension of your account pending investigation
  • Permanent Ban: Permanent removal from the platform with no option to create new accounts
  • Claim Revocation: Reversal of any previously approved business claims obtained through fraud
  • Public Disclosure: In cases of serious fraud, Trusted Rw may disclose the violation to affected parties

7. Legal Action

Trusted Rw will not hesitate to pursue legal action against individuals who engage in fraud on our platform. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Reporting to the Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB) for criminal investigation
  • Filing complaints with the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) for business registration fraud
  • Prosecution under the Rwandan Penal Code: provisions on fraud (Article 164), forgery of documents (Article 292), and use of forged documents (Article 293)
  • Civil action to recover damages caused by fraudulent activity
  • Cooperation with law enforcement agencies and judicial authorities as required

Under Rwandan law, forgery of documents carries penalties of up to five years imprisonment and significant fines. Trusted Rw takes these matters seriously and will cooperate fully with authorities.

8. Protection of Legitimate Users

This policy exists to protect honest users and businesses. Trusted Rw is committed to:

  • Notifying existing verified business owners when a new claim is submitted for their business
  • Providing dispute resolution when conflicting claims arise
  • Removing fake reviews that unfairly damage a business's reputation
  • Maintaining confidentiality of documents submitted during verification

9. Data Handling

Documents and information submitted for verification are stored securely and used solely for their intended purpose. All data handling complies with our Privacy Policy and the Rwanda Data Protection and Privacy Law. Documents associated with rejected claims are deleted within 90 days of the final decision.

10. Reporting Fraud

If you suspect fraudulent activity on Trusted Rw, such as a fake business claim, forged documents, or fabricated reviews, please report it immediately to support@trustedrw.com. All reports are treated confidentially and investigated promptly.

11. Policy Updates

Trusted Rw may update this policy at any time. Material changes will be communicated through the platform. Continued use of Trusted Rw after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
